Selwa’s heritage is Egyptian and Lebanese.  Her childhood began in Cairo, Egypt, until she was ten years old and then to Beirut, Lebanon, with her mother and brothers for eight years.  In 1976, after enduring a year and a half of war, she immigrated with her brothers to join their father in Fremont, California.

Selwa attended Pacific Union College and achieved a degree in Office Administration, then enrolled in the nursing program.  Nursing had been her childhood dream, but well into the nursing program, Selwa could see it was not the right fit for her.  There was a “calling” to assist and support people and over the years her business goals would work their way toward that calling: Executive Secretary, Office Manager, then her own Desktop Publishing business.  These skills and services came from Selwa’s desire to support others and ultimately make a difference for them.  During that time she and her husband started their family and she chose to work from home and make her family her primary focus.

After her two boys started school she was able to consider her own career path once again.  There needed to be a balance of taking care of her family and taking care of her personal career goals.  She ventured into Real Estate and took to the training whole-heartedly.  In that training she observed and admired the methods of “coaching” that her trainer exhibited; she was gracious, accepting and non-judgmental.  Selwa was drawn to her methods and inquired about how she might enroll in that side of the business.  As the whimsy of our fate works, Selwa’s first coach, Kitty Cole, had a nine-month coaching program that was just beginning.  In less than a week Selwa was engaged with a group of twelve highly successful realtors and mortgage brokers; people like her with a commitment to develop their talents, achieve their goals and serve their clients with integrity.  What seemed at the time as a “stumble” in a new direction was actually the next strategic step in Selwa’s path to working and living her passion.

Since early 2006, Selwa has immersed herself in training and practicing as a Life Coach.  Her work has enhanced her own life on all levels: wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and “Coach”!  Through Selwa’s coaching, her clients are able to focus on their dreams and goals, bring harmony back to their life’s endeavors, and move through challenges that were overwhelming without her support and expertise.

Selwa is a licensed, independent Business and Life Coach, certified through several coaching experts and programs including: Kitty Cole, Bob Proctor (LifeSuccess Consultants), Holli Walker (180 Life & Style Coaching), and Brian Tracy (Business Growth Strategies).  She continues to develop her coaching through ongoing courses and certifications.

Selwa is also a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley (2008-2009; Class XXII), and a member of the Chambers of Commerce in American Canyon and Napa, California.
